Questions About Shariah-Compliant Investment Management
Every client comes with different financial goals, circumstances, and questions. Below are answers to some of the questions you may have about working with BE Investment Management for Shariah-compliant investment management.
Do you manage each Shariah portfolio individually?
Yes. I founded BE Investment Management to serve clients who want personal attention and individual portfolios.
I begin by getting to know you, including your investment goals, time horizon, risk tolerance, and financial circumstances. That information helps shape the investment strategy and portfolio developed for you.

What approach do you follow for Shariah compliance?
I follow the Hanbali school of jurisprudence to help choose Shariah compliant securities. In addition to consulting Islamic texts, I also rely on guidance from people of knowledge within the community.
I incorporate those considerations into the investment process while also taking your individual financial goals and circumstances into account.

Why did you begin offering Shariah-compliant investment management?
My daughter and son-in-law accepted Islam in 2018. I live with them in a Muslim household. Talking with various leaders in the local Muslim community, I realized that there is a strong need for investment advisors who can provide investment advice that follows the Shariah.
That experience led me to begin offering investment management for clients who want to pursue their financial goals while remaining aligned with Islamic principles.

How does the investment process begin?
It begins by getting to know you.
We discuss your investment goals, time horizon, risk tolerance, current investments, and other circumstances that may affect your portfolio.
From there, I can begin developing an investment strategy around your individual needs.

Will my portfolio be the same as every other Shariah client’s portfolio?
No. My approach emphasizes individual portfolio management rather than placing every client into the same generic investment model.
Your financial goals, timeline, risk tolerance, and personal circumstances are considered when developing your investment strategy.

How are investments selected?
Investment decisions are made within the context of both your individual investment strategy and Shariah considerations.
I research securities, evaluate how they fit within the portfolio, and follow the Shariah approach described above when choosing investments.
I would not go further than this yet because we do not have confirmed details from Brian about a specific screening methodology, ratios, third-party Shariah screening service, or formal Shariah board.

Do you continue monitoring the portfolio after it is established?
Yes. Investment management is an ongoing process.
I continue researching securities, monitoring the portfolio, preparing reports, and communicating with clients to help make sure the investment strategy remains relevant as markets and personal circumstances change.

What types of accounts do you manage?
BE Investment Management offers investment management for:
- Individual management accounts
- Individual Retirement Accounts
- Rollover IRAs
- Endowments
If Brian handles additional account types, we can expand this once he confirms them.

What happens if my financial situation or goals change?
That is one reason ongoing communication is an important part of the relationship.
Changes in your goals, time horizon, financial circumstances, or investment needs may affect the strategy. Regular communication allows those changes to be considered as your portfolio continues to be managed.

How often will I hear from you?
I maintain an ongoing relationship with clients and provide regular updates about their investments.
I would keep this answer intentionally general unless Brian has a defined communication schedule such as quarterly meetings or reports.
